The proliferation of electric drive systems warrants innovative system level design, intelligent control schemes, and advanced materials. Carpenter Technology has produced Hiperco Fe-Co magnetic alloys for decades. These alloys have high magnetic induction and permeability, allowing for high power density and high torque electric machines compared to traditional silicon steels. However, Fe-Co alloys come with significant manufacturing challenges. Carpenter Electrification is optimizing manufacturing processes to enable high-performance electric motors spanning electric vehicles, aviation, and semiconductor industries.
Natan Aronhime received his B.S. from University of Maryland in 2012, and his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University in 2018. His doctoral research was conducted with Prof. Michael McHenry and focused on Fe-Ni based nanocomposite alloy development. Since 2018, Natan has worked at Carpenter Technology as a Senior Metallurgist. In his capacity at Carpenter, Aronhime has led development of Hiperco stack manufacturing technologies for a range of target markets.
