Materials Science and Technology meeting

The 2022 Materials Science & Technology meeting is taking place in Pittsburgh this October 9-12thdowntown at the Convention Center and the department would like to make Monday Oct 10th CMU-MSE day. This is a premier MSE conference that happens to be in our backyard and students are able to attend for $25, which the department will be happy to reimburse. You can hop on a bus directly from campus to Sixth and Smithfield, which is a short walk from the convention center.

On October 10th there will be student poster competition. A short abstract is all that is required to register, but it is due Friday Sept 9th.

There are a handful of other student events including is also a speaking contest, a mug drop contest, a photo contest, and other student activities that might be of interest.
