This course is intended for students in the Ph.D program in Materials Science and Engineering. The course will expose students to the professional issues that materials scientists and engineers face when they enter the workforce or go pursue careers in academia. The course focuses on professional skills for materials scientists and engineers, covering communication skills, ethics and responsible conduct of research, and evaluating technical literature. The course will look at the business of materials in light of the global economy.
